Director Vishnuvardhan’s Atta Aarambam released in telugu today. The movie is dubbed from Tamil “Aarambam” which was block buster in Kollywood. Ajith Kumar, Aarya, Rana Dagupatti, Nayantra, Taapsee played the lead roles. Vishnuvardhan and Ajith worked early for Tamil Billa. Let us see how is the game played by the team?
The film starts with Ashok (Ajith) intro; he plants bombs in crowded locations around theMumbai city. Then the movie shifts to Hyderabad Airport. Arjun (Arya) on his way to Mumbai for a job interview. Maya (Nayanthara) is travelling on the same flight. They are college mates in past. A small flash back will run about their college days. However, once they reach Mumbai, everything changes. Arjun belatedly realises that Maya has trapped him into playing a deadly game planned by Ashok.
Arjun is the best hacker in the state and Ashok requires his expertise to infiltrate the computer systems of certain organizations. Arjun initially refuses to co-operate, but relents when they threaten to kill his girl friend and TV host, Anitha (Taapsee Pannu). Finally Arjun doing whatever Ashok is saying.
Angered Ashok secretly inform to Prakash (Kishore), an honest police officer, about Ashok activities and his involvement to kishore who is investigating the bomb blast. Will Kishore caught the Ashok and stop his further activities? Why Ashok doing all these things? Why Nayanthara helping Ashok? That rest story forms.
The performance of the Ajith is good. Aarya acting skills is good in the movie, especially his bubbly getup in college days are really superb. The first half of the film is dangerously fast, loaded with action and excitement, and keeps you guessing. Nayanthara and Taapasee have permitted roles in the movie. Arya and Taapsee share a great chemistry. Rana will appear in cameo role. But his role is key in the movie. Mahesh manjrekar is ok.
Director narrated first half so nicely, but he failed to carry that much grip in the second half. None of the song is catchy. Lengthy climax episode. Ajith look a litle overweight in some of the scenes. No single song is there between Ajith and Nayanthara. Poor editing work done by Sreekar Prasad in second half of the movie.
Cinematography by Om prakash is good. Music by yuvan Shankar raja is ok. Stunts by Kecha, jegan, Lee whittaker are good. Editing is ok.
Atta Aarambam is far from perfect movie, can be watched for some well orchestrated action sequences and speedy first half.
Trade Talk: 2- 3 weeks.
